Packing Tips
-
If you want to save money you can do all of the packing yourself. Furniture
is padded with moving blankets at no additional cost to you (with most
moving companies). If you don't want to pack, the movers can take care of
this for you. You will be charged for the labor for the packing, as well as
the packing materials. We recommended letting the movers take care of
packing any fragile or breakable items.
- For local moves there is no inventory list created, so it is up to you
to make sure you keep track of what you have going onto the movers truck. It
is crucial to document everything. If anything is damaged or lost, you will
have to file a claim through the moving company.
- For local moves, most companies usually charge hourly. The time charged will include the time that it takes for the crew to get back to the office from your home. There may be additional charges for stairs, extra stops, and the distance form your front door to the moving van.
These tips should help you with planning your move. Planning your relocation
well in advance helps keep everything running smoothly.
